It was a hot afternoon.
Anthony and I had finished a bit of sightseeing on Georgia’s coastal Jekyll Island and we were hungry.
We decided to head to The Wharf, a quaint little waterfront restaurant nestled off a historic pier.
By the time we arrived, the air-conditioned inside had already filled up. Outdoor seating was our only option.
As our waiter escorted us to a high-top table on the perimeter of the outdoor area, I silently thanked God for the huge fans I noticed providing comfort to patrons sitting in the oppressive heat.
The sun was beating down on us as we opened our menus to choose our entrees.
With sweat running down his face, our waiter returned to take our orders.
Orders taken, he hurried off.
Anthony and I began to chat.
And then it happened.
One large, beautiful cloud moved in front of the sun and provided enough shade over our environment to make our dining experience enjoyable.
Not just tolerable but truly enjoyable.
I smiled, aware of God’s constant care for His children down to the smallest detail.
He knows how much this cold-natured daughter of His struggles with the heat. So He sent a cloud. A cloud that brought shade to our table and a smile to my face.
It brings me such joy to know I serve a God who loves me enough to walk with me through every minute of my day and wants to show me that love in big and small ways.
Have you ever noticed God in the details of your day?
It might not be in the form of a cloud.
Perhaps He shows up in the form of a dear friend, your spouse, or a sweet coworker who gives a hug, sends a text, or stops and prays when you need it most.
It’s in those moments that God is making you aware of His constant care for you as His child, down to the smallest detail.
“How precious it is, Lord, to realize the you are thinking about me constantly! I can’t even count how many times a day your thoughts turn toward me.” (Psalm 139:17 TLB)
Until next time, Grace and Glory!

God sent me a dear friend in Chayna. 💛
This is amazing!! When im on the move with work, my son and his daily activities. I feel i live in constant fear of perfection, expectations, and things that are out of my control. im reminded to take a breath and not fear the what ifs, should haves, and the lies that are presented in my life. I am reminded that I am enough, to slow down and not worry about things beyond my control. That God does cares about me but not my imperfections, because I am perfect in his image!
Thank you, Brittany! Yes and Amen!! 🙂
