It happened on a mid-July afternoon in 1986. Jesus found me on my knees in my small bedroom. I had spent months prior to that time wrestling with eternal questions like:
- Who am I?
- What is my purpose in this world?
- What happens to me after I die?
On that beautiful, life-changing day, Jesus intersected my existence dramatically and began answering those deep-seated questions. His answers rocked my world; gave me unspeakable joy; and began directing a pattern for my life so that no matter where I lived or what job I worked, I knew that, ultimately, my primary purpose was to reflect His heart and glorify Him.
Without an ounce of Bible training or seminary education, I began telling anyone who would listen what Jesus had done for me. I had no idea how to “cross-reference” in the Scriptures; I couldn’t explain Christian apologetics to you; and I was clueless as to my next steps “in the Lord”. All I knew was what Jesus had done for me!
It’s funny how complicated we can make things – especially in “Christian” circles. We often think we need a diagram, several classes, and a 5-point system to tell “our story”. Yet, time after time, in the Bible, when Jesus rescues people, they simply go and tell others about what God did for them.
A man who had been demon-possessed and was delivered was told by Jesus, “Go home and tell how much God has done for you.” (Luke 8:39)
John 9 tells the story of a man born blind who was healed. Following the miracle, word spread quickly and people asked the man, “How were your eyes opened?” His candid response was, “Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.”
And, in John 4, after Jesus finished talking with a Samaritan woman, she returned to the people of her town and said, “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” (vs. 28-29)
No one knows your story better than you and no one can share “all the good things that God has done” in your life better than you! What’s your story? Whatever it is – it’s powerful and worth sharing!
Go and tell what good things God has done for you today!
Until next time, Grace and Glory!
So, true!! #goandtell

Love it!!!!
Oh how I needed this today! Love it! Best one yet!
So glad to hear this! Thank you for sharing that!
This is so true!
Almost didn’t post this but maybe someone else needs it too!!! Often times we stop sharing or add to our story because we feel other people have a “better” story than our own. That’s exactly what the enemy wants is to silence you! Good, bad or ugly there is nothing better than an authentic story told by the actual author!!!
Well said, Shari! Thank you for sharing that!
