What stage of life are you in?
Perhaps, you’re in a stage of singleness or newly married.
Maybe you find yourself in the stage of sleep deprivation, diaper changes, and midnight feedings.
Or you may be in the empty-nester stage or the caring-for-aging-parents stage.
Our life is really just a series of stages, isn’t it? From the cradle to the grave, we are moving from one stage to the next.
Trusting God in the various stages is ultimately what we are learning to do, as Christ-followers.
It’s really nothing new. This principle has been around as long as humans have.
Genesis 12 gives us a behind-the-scenes look at Abram.
At 75 years old, God called him to pack up his family, his belongings, his life and move.
“The Lord said to Abram: ‘Go out from your land, your relatives, and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.’” (vs. 1 CSB)
He didn’t hop on his camel and arrive overnight, though.
Verse 9 tells us, “…Abram journeyed by stages.”
The journey took time. Days. Weeks. Months. Years.
Time.
And time tends to develop patience.
It’s here, in the patient journeying through the stages, where God is at work – leading us, teaching us and helping us grow to look more like Him.
Have you considered what He might be teaching you in the stage you’re in right now?
Have you asked Him to show you?
Don’t wish this stage away. Don’t rush through it.
Be present in this stage.
Be obedient in this stage.
Be expectant in this stage.
“There is no such thing as “chance,” “luck” or “accident” in the Christian’s journey through this world. All is arranged and appointed by God. And all things are “working together” for the believer’s good.” (J.C. Ryle)
Until next time, Grace and Glory!
